Mission and Values
Gulf Coast Medical Center is a 161-bed acute care center, serving a population of approximately 200,000 residents between Houston and Victoria, Texas. The hospital is located in Wharton, Texas, which is approximately 55 miles southwest of downtown Houston and just 30 miles from Sugar Land, Texas (recently named by Money Magazine as one of the top US cities in which to live).
Gulf Coast is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). In partnership with more than 50 area physicians, the hospital provides a full range of medical services to meet the healthcare needs of the community it proudly serves.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of local leaders overseeing the operations of the hospital - see our management team and board of trustees.
